Responsibility Summary
- A Transport Manager plans, directs, and optimizes daily transportation operations, including route scheduling, driver management, and vehicle maintenance, to ensure cost-effective, safe, and timely delivery of goods. They ensure compliance with transportation regulations, manage budgets, and oversee staff performance to improve logistical efficiency.
- Operations & Logistics: Plan and manage routing, dispatching, and tracking of vehicles to optimize delivery schedules.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, vehicle maintenance standards, and legal requirements (e.g., permits, inspections).
• Team Management: Supervise drivers and dispatch staff, including managing performance and scheduling.
• Financial Control: Manage the transport budget, controlling fuel costs, and reducing operational expenses.
• Fleet Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of company vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Transport Management.
- Experience: At least one year proven experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of transportation legislation, safety standards.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Technology: Proficiency in, or ability to learn, transport management systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software
